Starting with just a few rafts in 1981, Deschutes River Adventures began renting out boats for day trips along the whitewater stretch of the Lower Deschutes River in Maupin, Oregon. Whitewater rafting was an exciting new sport and DRA was the pioneer rafting company to get in on the action. The outfit saw success and soon expanded with more rafts and multi-day rentals so folks could raft and camp along 100 miles of the Wild and Scenic river. Guided trips came a few years later and DRA quickly mastered the logistics and hospitality of guided day and overnight river trips though never lost touch of their original bread and butter that were raft rentals.
In 2017, Kate and Andy bought the company and have tirelessly built it to what it is now; A full service outdoor guiding and raft rental operation with a highly trained staff of professional river guides. The coffee kiosk was added in 2019 and guests can now enjoy baked goods, breakfast burritos and locally roasted espresso before their trip right out front of the shop.
With quality gear, knowledgeable guides, and decades of experience, the folks at Deschutes River Adventures are professional, passionate and excited to provide life-long memories for your family!
