about us

Our Story

Deschutes River Adventures has been around since day 1 of the rafting frenzy in Maupin, Oregon. Since 1983 we've been outfitting rafters for day and overnight trips on the Deschutes. We started offering guided trips a few years later and we've been mastering our hospitality skills ever since. We love this river and we love to help people have a good time on it! In 2017 we gave the shop a makeover and we're expanding our retail offerings. We are proud to stock light rafting gear and men's and women's apparel lines like Mountain Hardware, Dakine, NRS, Teva and Chaco. Drop by and check out the new shop!

Andy & Kate

Kate and Andy have been rafting around the Pacific Northwest all their lives. They met while working as guides on the Deschutes in 2010 and got married on it 5 years later. When not in Maupin, you can find them skiing Mt. Hood, rafting rivers all over the PNW, enjoying a tasty Oregon beer, and roadtripping with their pup to their next adventure.

Lacey is the best border collie ever! She likes to raft, chase sticks, hike, chase balls, ski, chase pinecones and greet you when you arrive here at the shop. Lacey knows her way around Maupin pretty well. When she's hungry, she takes herself to the gas station for a treat.

Want a job?

We are currently hiring for guides, photographers, and drivers for the upcoming 2017 summer season.

Work for a company that found the secret to making work fun. We raft all day at work and then we raft all night after we get off work. Click either image below to get in contact with us.
